Results

Unfortunately numbers were slightly down for this competition but of course as a 2-day, 4-round 400AP event it's a lot more difficult to get the time/energy etc. We had 9 players and an umpire who only played when required to make the draw even. Scoring was 0-10 with +100VP. Everyone seemed to have a good time and the games all proceeded smoothly. Things were a little cramped in the Leprecon hall but this was more than made up for by the buzz in the venue and the presence of some spectators. We did our best to spread the DBM "word"  with some informational hand-outs :-)

Pictures

Below is a selection of pictures from the day.

Burgundian Ordonnance vs Christian Nubian

Burgundian Ordonnance vs Christian Nubians

This picture clearly shows how Paul held one flank of his small
Burgundian Ordonnance army with TF and Organ guns (Art(I)).
The mounted archers and Knights are held in reserve.

Eric Nolan

General Shot of Round 1

This shows (from left to right) Eric, Padraig, Mathieu,
Arnaud and Terry. Eric's 3 LH(F) skirmishers held off
much superior numbers of my Graeco-Bactrian LH(O/F)...

Graeco-Bactrian vs Han

Graeco-Bactrian vs Han

Graeco-Bactrian LH(S) and Ps(O) assualt the weak flank of the
Han spear-wall which is being reinforced by Han Kn Chariots.
This was to prove decisive as the spear became disordered and
the Graeco-Bactrian Bodyguard cavalry (Reg Kn(F)) held in
reserve eventually made a successful assault on the spear's flank.

Graeco-Bactrian vs Kushan

Graeco-Bactrian vs Kushan

Here a mix of Ax(S) and Ax(X) try to assault a rough hill
protecting the flank of the Kushan Bw(X) line. Despite the
huge advantage in numbers the muddy slopes of the hill made
the couple of Ax(O) on the hill a very tough nut to crack. This
bought valuable time for the Kushan flank-march to arrive.
Despite a reasonable number of bounds being completed this
game timed out 5-5.

Han Skirmishers holding off Graeco-Bactrian Assault

Graeco-Bactrian vs Han

On the left flank Han horse-archers (LH(F)) and convicts (Hd(I))
held off resolutely against a combined arms assault of auxillia,
fast knights and light horse. They eventually broke but it was a
Pyrrhic victory for the Greaco-Bactrian CinC's command and it
was left unable to exploit the advantage. The demoralised Han
artillery lurking in the rear caused several hairy moments during
the mopping up.

Kushan Elephants

Kushan mixed formation of Elephants and Cataphracts

This frontally powerful combination caused much damage
during the competition. Note the general's howdah.

LPIA vs Feudal English

Feudal English vs LPIA

This headlong charge by the French ally caused much confusion
in the LPIA ranks but it wasn't enough to tip the balance of the
game which Richard's LPIA won 9-1.

Mathieu and Richard

This shot shows: the top of Paul's head, Mathieu, Terry, Richard
and Alex who performed the umpiring during the day.

This match ended 10-0 for the Scythians.
