There was an excellent turn out of players (20 + a non-playing umpire) and a few spectators for this event which was held in the usual DGG location of the Teachers Club, Parnell square, Dublin. There were a number of new faces - which is always nice. This year we had two competitions at Strongbow's Shield, a 200AP Pairs and a 315AP Punic Wars theme played on small (DBM200-sized) tables. The theme format is very similar to the way that 25mm DBM is normally played in England.

There were 3 rounds in each event (2.45 hour games). Both competitions used +100VP scoring. The Theme was restricted to armies from Pyrrhus's Italian expedition and the First Punic War. Everyone had a great time and the games all proceeded smoothly. The umpire was Eric Nolan (who filled in at the last minute, thanks again).
