Competition Rules:

  • Army Lists must be submitted in a plain text format.
  • Competitors must bring their own terrain but basemats will be provided.
  • There will be a non-playing umpire who will only play the bottom of the draw to make up numbers if there is an uneven number of players
  • There will be a door prize of a painted ally command randomly allocated. Only
players who get their lists in on time will be eligible for this prize.
  • The version of the rules used will be DBMM version 1.0 with the DBMM200 rules Appendix and the current DBMM Commentary available on www.dbmm.org.uk.
  • Any army from DBMM Army List Book III, DBM Army List Book I, DBM Army List Book IV or the draft DBMM Army List Book 2 provided here (link only operational until 5th Oct). If DBM lists are used then the DBMM list conversion Appendix applies and regular baggage will only be available to Romans, Byzantines, Mongols and Chinese.
  • All armies may be a maximum of 200AP
  • If both players agree, then the weather and time of day rules may be ignored.
  • The umpire's decisions are final.
  • All games will be 2 hours + 0-15 minutes and when time is called the game finishes instantly with no more dice being rolled, instead proceed directly to the end of bound phase and check if any commands have been disheartened/demoralised. Note that we will not be playing blitz given a general lack of experience with the DBMM rules.
  • For podium places the tie-breaks used will be:

    • Higher score in a mutual game.
    • Most 25-0 results.
    • Sum of opponent's scores.
