Alan Neill (1971-2006)

This competition was started by Arnaud Marmier in 2001 and is now named in memory of Alan Neill, a vital member of the gaming community in Belfast and Ireland. It has always been held as part of the Q-Con games convention (http://www.q-con.org.uk/) and is traditionally on the last full weekend in June. Welcome to the Celtic Championship Homepage

The Celtic Championship competition was inaugurated in 2003. It is designed to be a roving premier event which will encourage communication between Ancients wargames players on the fringes of the thriving English scene. It also aims to provide the opportunity to organise a larger annual event than would be sustainable by the small player communities present in the individual countries of the "celtic fringe". Each year the event will take place in a different one of the hosting regions - the Republic of Ireland , Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales (who have yet to host).
